Tree Removal
Removing a tree is the part of the job most people worry about, and rightly so — it is the highest-risk work an arborist does. On the western volcanic plains that usually means large mature gums: river red gums along the Werribee River corridor, and the sugar-gum windrows planted decades ago along old farm boundaries through Werribee, Tarneit and out toward Melton. We remove trees of any size, plan the drop or the dismantle around what is underneath, and leave the site clean.
Stump Grinding & Removal
A ground-out stump is the difference between a finished job and a backyard you still cannot use. We grind stumps well below the surface so you can lay turf, pour concrete, build or replant over the top. Old sugar-gum and cypress stumps on the western plains are dense and often sit in rocky basalt clay, so they take a proper machine and a bit of patience — not a quick surface shave.
Tree Lopping & Pruning
"Lopping" gets used to mean any cutting back, but done badly it means topping a tree — hacking the canopy off at a stub, which triggers weak regrowth and long-term decline. Done properly, pruning is targeted: taking out deadwood, thinning the crown to let wind and light through, lifting the canopy off a roof or driveway, and shaping for clearance. We prune to keep the tree healthy and safe, and we will tell you honestly when a tree is better removed than repeatedly cut back.
Emergency & Storm Damage
Storms roll straight across the open western plains, and every summer and storm season they bring trees and limbs down across Werribee and the Melton ring. A tree on a roof, a limb across the driveway or a trunk split and hanging is dangerous and needs handling quickly and carefully. We respond to storm-damage jobs, make the site safe first, and then clear the damage — working around what is broken rather than making it worse.
